China Eastern Airlines Logistics Helps Revitalize Rural Areas, Adds Free Cargo Service Credits to Two Yunnan Counties

On the afternoon of August 19, China Eastern Airlines' China Eastern Airlines Logistics signed a supplemental agreement on free logistics and transportation of agricultural products with Cangyuan and Shuangjiang counties in Yunnan Province, which is another initiative of China Eastern Airlines Logistics to help the local community after the signing of the Transportation Guarantee Agreement between the two sides in September last year.

The signing of this agreement is an innovative practice for China Eastern Airlines Logistics to further promote targeted assistance and the modernization of local agriculture. Since 2023, in order to solve the transportation difficulties of Cangyuan and Shuangjiang counties, China Eastern Airlines Logistics has played to its business strengths, cooperated with China Eastern Airlines to implement targeted assistance to the two counties, and provided free transportation services for the agricultural and sideline products of Cangyuan and Shuangjiang, which are transported out of Lincang and Cangyuan airports by air logistics. China Eastern Airlines Logistics also worked with the two counties and the two airports to develop a new rural revitalization freight model, creating a “civil aviation + e-commerce + rural revitalization” air cargo products, local specialties such as tea, lemons, large tomatoes, passion fruits, millet chili, maize, Sakai fruits and other agricultural and sideline products from Lincang, Cangyuan, Kunming, Chengdu and other stops , transit transportation to all parts of the country. Since the signing of the contract on September 1, 2023, this project has helped nearly 30 enterprises in Cangyuan and Shuangjiang counties to complete the transportation of agricultural and sideline products of over 34 million yuan.

With the deepening of the rural revitalization strategy, Cangyuan and Shuangjiang counties are experiencing rapid economic growth. In order to further meet the growing logistics and transportation needs of the two counties and to better serve the local people's livelihoods and economic development, China Eastern Airlines Logistics has signed a contract to provide the two counties with an additional 78 tons of free freight service for agricultural and sideline products per year, which is equivalent to an additional 1.2 million yuan of investment in new support funds. In the future, China Eastern Airlines Logistics will further cooperate with China Eastern Airlines to actively respond to and implement the National Rural Revitalization Strategy, continue to play a professional advantage, explore more innovative service modes, open up a broader channel for “Yunnan products”, and inject new vitality into local economic and social development.
